About Our Committee

Easthampton Republican City Committee is an organization of local residents committed to conservative values of a leaner, smaller less intrusive government.

The recent history of the Easthampton Republican City Committee starts with a few Republicans in town meeting with Mike Knapik, State Senator at the time, to discuss a formal organization of Republicans. Raymond Pontbriant organizes the group with the Office of Campaign and Political Finance and the Easthampton Republican City Committee is founded.

In 2015 Alexandria Moynihan becomes chairwoman with the help of State Committee people Linda Vacon and Richard Berrena. She and her husband were local entrepreneurs running and owning Jim's package store for years. Alexandria expands the group and held events such as "Come Celebrate Calvin Coolidge" a tribute to the Presidents' life. Also organized under Alex was a movement to stop Rank Choice Voice Voting and a four year term for Mayor.

On September 21, 2023 Cathy Wauczinski took over responsibilities as Chairwoman. Cathy has expanded the Republican committee and taken an active role in monitoring the City's Council and Committee's. She has worked over three decades in human services and is a Behavioral Therapist serving as a disabilities advocate and director.

The Easthampton City Committee meets three times per month and encourages all Republican and Un-enrolled independent thinkers to join us.
